Songs of Innocence #1

This painting is inspired by the poem Songs of Innocence by William Blake (1757-1827), particularly chapter’s 2 & 4 of that poem. I believe that England desperately needs another William Blake as it goes through it’s current dark and troubled times. Blake was a visionary who could describe a beautiful and harmonious life. Blake was a poet, an artist and a romantic. Blake spoke unto the heart before the head. Today I paint for the great man.
