Bucolic Burnt Sienna

This painting comes from a tutorial in the excellent book ‘Handbook of Watercolour Tips & Techniques’ by Lowrey, Jelbert et al. The challenge is in the use of tone. The painting uses only two colours: Winsor Blue and Burnt Sienna, so it’s a challenge of mixing and tones. I’m fairly happy with outcome, I really like the base of the tree trunks, and the hedge. Slow, incremental improvement, but improvement nonetheless.
